Control Systems and Installation Integration

The controller is the component that connects the electrical layer with the functional behavior of the system. It determines what effects can be achieved, how the installation is operated, and what type of lighting system it can support.

In practice, a properly selected control system should match not only the LED strip type, but also the scale of the project. A small decorative installation has very different requirements than a large advertising sign or a stage lighting system.

Elegant controllers for digital LED installations

For addressable LED systems, Elegant offers dedicated controllers designed for digital LED strips, pixel modules, and addressable lighting products. The product range includes several controller families that can be selected according to project size and complexity — from simple remote-controlled systems to DMX and Art-Net based solutions.

Elegant RF controllers

For small and medium-sized installations, Elegant RF controllers are often a practical choice. These units allow convenient control of digital LED strips using a remote control. This group includes models such as the S80, S70, and S60.

They offer built-in dynamic effects, zone control, and straightforward configuration without the need for complex programming. Selected models also include an integrated microphone, allowing the lighting to react to sound. The product line includes versions for RGB and RGBW systems, including strips based on SK6812 and TM1814.

Integration via Wi-Fi bridge

In projects where easier day-to-day control is needed, the system can be expanded with the Elegant R240 Wi-Fi bridge. This solution allows compatible receivers to be controlled from an app and makes it easier to manage multi-zone systems.

It is especially practical in residential, display, and commercial applications where the user expects a simple interface and convenient operation.

Elegant DMX controllers

In stage, event, and professional synchronized lighting systems, Elegant DMX controllers are often the better option. Models such as the S51A and related RGBW-capable versions allow pixel LED strips to be integrated into standard DMX infrastructure.

This makes them suitable wherever LED lighting must work alongside lighting consoles, programmed scenes, or other stage equipment.

Network control and Art-Net

In larger projects where network integration and control of a high number of pixels are essential, Elegant Art-Net SPI gateways such as the AR440 are a suitable solution. Devices of this type convert Art-Net signals into output suitable for addressable LED strips.

This makes them useful in advanced advertising systems, architectural lighting, and show installations where integration with lighting software or Ethernet-based control systems is required.

How to choose the right controller

A practical rule of thumb is:

  • for simple and medium decorative installations, RF controllers are usually sufficient,
  • for multi-zone systems with app control, a Wi-Fi bridge is a useful addition,
  • for stage and commercial installations, DMX controllers are the appropriate choice,
  • for large professional networked systems, Art-Net SPI gateways are the best fit.

This approach helps simplify system design and avoids both overcomplicating a small installation and under-specifying a larger one.
